Hookrock Festival 2011

On the 3rd of Juli I went to the Hookrock Blues festival in Diepenbeek, Belgium. One of my favorite bands was playing there, and after all the Metal Mayhem at Hellfest & Graspop I craved for some blues.

The line-up this year contained quite a few bands I didn't know yet, in fact, the only band I knew (and love) was the Dana Fuchs band.

The line-up this year was:

• United By Music (featuring the Candye Kane Band)
• The Candye Kane Band
• The Wildcats
• Rick Estrin & The Nightcats
• The Dana Fuchs Band
• Johnny Mastro & Mama's Boys

The cover band 'Rock 'n Feller' kept the people entertained in between the gigs. The best band of the day for me was without a doubt the Dana Fuchs band, Dana has an amazing stage presence and an incredible voice!

A nice surprise was United By Music, this is a project that people with intellectual and physical disabilities a chance to get up the scene and do what they do best, play music. This project really deserves all the support it can get.

Luck would have it that I scored me a Tokina AT-X 535 PRO DX the day before the festival, so I decided I'd try it out there, and you can see the results here.
